Honors Advising

Who should see an Honors Advisor?

Freshmen

During the fall semester, freshmen Honors students are required to meet with their Honors advisor prior to the advanced registration period for the spring semester. In the spring, freshmen Honors students are strongly encouraged to meet with their Honors Advisor to discuss fall registration.

Upperclassmen with Honors questions

Although upper-class students and transfer students are advised primarily in their major departments, they may also consult with an Honors advisor whenever they choose. In addition to helping develop students’ academic plans, Honors advisors will also write letters of recommendation and sign insurance forms to verify eligibility for a “good student discount.”

New Honors students

Students who enter the Honors Program after their first semester or after transferring to ISU are welcome to meet with an Honors advisor if they have questions about the program.

Honors advisors are available by appointment. The Honors Office is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call the Honors Office at (309) 438-2559. You may also contact an advisor by email.
