Where can I stay?

Students: Stay in the residence halls!

Overnight accommodations are available in Hewett and Manchester halls for an additional fee.

Students, including commuters, report they enjoyed the overnight stay because:

  • Staying in the residence hall makes it easier to be on time to the required second-day sessions that begin early.
  • Getting more comfortable with the environment eases anxiety when returning in August.
  • The overnight experience is the best way to meet and make friends.

Family Members & Guests

Hotel accomodations

Many Preview family members and guests prefer to stay in a local hotel to meet their comfort needs. Information regarding hotel accommodations may be found by contacting the Bloomington-Normal Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Residence Hall accomodations

Family members may stay in Hewett and Manchester halls for an additional fee. Although housed in the same residence hall complex, family members will be on different floors than the students. A single family member or guest attending Preview will be housed in a double occupancy residence hall with another single family member or guest of the same gender. Although some family members choose to stay in the residence hall, it is not required.

What to expect staying overnight at Preview

Hewett and Manchester are standard residence halls with shared restrooms. Residential quarters are equipped with two single beds, bed linens, blanket, pillows and towels. Review the suggested packing list and housing security policies if you plan to stay overnight in the residence halls.

Where do I sign up to stay in the residence hall for Preview?

You do not need to reserve an on-campus room in advance. Sufficient space will be available when you arrive on your scheduled date. During check in on your Preview date, you will let us know if you and/or your guests will be staying overnight in the residence halls.

If you are attending Preview with a friend and would like to room together, after Preview check in is completed, you can alert Housing staff of your request to room together. You will simply go to the housing table together to pick up your keys for the night.

What does it cost?

Cost for overnight stay in the Residence Hall:

$50/person (due at Preview check in. Payable cash or personal checks ONLY. Preview does not accept debit or credit cards)

Please note: No refunds are given after you receive your room key at check-in on Day 1 of Preview.

Dinner on day one and breakfast on day two are included in this overnight cost. Lunch on day one for students will be provided by Preview. Family members and guests should bring money for lunch on day one and additional meals not covered by the ovenight housing fee.
