Do I have to stay overnight?

Staying overnight in the residence hall is strongly encouraged for students and the vast majority stay. While we encourage students to stay overnight in the residence halls, most parents and guests choose to find more comfortable accomodations at nearby hotels.

Preview is quite busy and can last until 10:30 p.m. on the first day and begins at 8:00 a.m. on the second day. The more a student is on campus, the more comfortable he or she will be with Illinois State University.  Even commuter students report that the overnight stay was enjoyable, as it helped them make new friends!

Remember, all sessions are mandatory and if students stay off campus, they must still attend all mandatory sessions.
