What's After Preview?

So after you attend Preview you'll be heading home with a bag full of information and two days of excitement behind you. Once you've gotten home and unpacked your things, you're probably wondering what's next?

 

ISU Emergency Alert

ISU Emergency Alert is the University’s method for notifying you of an emergency. In order to receive a text message, you must sign up. Register now at http://IllinoisState.edu/EmergencyAlert

Our Police Department will issue an ISU Emergency Alert when there’s an immediate threat or emergency facing the University. Examples include: tornadoes, building fires, hazardous materials releases, explosions, structural collapses, armed robberies, shots fired and active shooter situations. It is imperative that the University community sign up for ISU Emergency Alert so you can be informed.

 

Camp LEAD

Camp LEAD is an optional retreat for emerging leaders who are new to campus (freshmen or transfer students). Participants will meet fellow student leaders, learn about involvement opportunities, discover their personal leadership style, advance theirleadership skills, and make new friends. As an added bonus, you also get to move into your residence hall assignment early! Space limited to 40 participants.

Welcome Week

The week before classes start, Illinois State offers the Welcome Week. Welcome Week encourages student interaction, university involvement and focuses on connecting you to Illinois State University.

During Welcome Week, you’ll enjoy a number of programs and activities that will answer any questions you may have about academics, living in the residence halls, and getting involved at the University. You’ll discover how Illinois State can help you develop your unique talents and interests, and will provide you with individualized resources to help you succeed.

Activities during Welcome Week include:

  • Picnics on the Quad
  • Social opportunities to meet other students
  • Meeting with your academic department
  • Celebration of Redbird spirit

Check out the Welcome Week schedule for all the details. Please note that all new students will be charged a nonrefundable fee for these events.
