ACT will no longer administer the COMPASS exam for placement testing. All testing locations worldwide will eliminate or have eliminated COMPASS testing as an option for course placement after November 30rd.
ACT announced in 2015 that COMPASS would be discontinued after November 30, 2016. Testing centers worldwide will no longer offer the COMPASS exam after this date.
Yes. If you completed the COMPASS exam at Illinois State University before November 20, 2016, your scores are still valid for two years and can be used for course registration.

All incoming freshman students regardless of ACT or SAT score will be required to take the Aleks placement exam in the spring semester prior to Preview, summer orientation. We will communicate placement information to first year freshmen in January 2017.
If you took Illinois State University's COMPASS math placement exam and would like to have your scores transferred to another institution, please complete this TRANSFER FORM . Students should confirm that the scores will be accepted at the recieving institution before completing this form.
Please note: The following institutions DO NOT accept the Illinois State University COMPASS exam, you should contact each institution's testing office to schedule to complete their version of the COMPASS exam.
