Students who plan to take a foreign language at ISU who have already taken two years or more of that language in high school are strongly encouraged to take the online self-placement test. Placing in the correct level will save you time, money and anxiety.
Please take just one test, based on the level that the instructions suggest is best for you.
Your score on the placement test will help you to make a more informed decision about which French, German, or Spanish course to start with at Illinois State. The self-placement test does not confer any course credit or grade, and it will not serve to block or permit your enrollment in a given course.
