University Scholarship Academic Probation

If you do not maintain at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA at the end of a semester, you may request that your scholarship be renewed by submitting a University Scholars Renewal Petition by the designated deadline.

Upon reviewing the renewal petition, the University Scholars Committee will consider the following:

  • Unusual circumstances that adversely impacted your academic performance and how those circumstances were resolved
  • Your past participation in the University Scholars Enrichment Program
  • Your plan for maximizing your chances of attaining the Scholarship GPA requirement; your plan for earning A's and B's at Illinois State
  • Why the University Scholarship is important to you

If the University Scholars Committee approves the renewal petition, the scholarship will be renewed and you will be placed on University Scholars probation.

If the committee denies the renewal petition, the scholarship and associated benefits will be immediately revoked. The decision of the University Scholars Committee is final.
