University College's first-year seminar courses help you make the transition to college and build the foundation for academic success in your first semester at Illinois State. These courses introduce you to campus and community services and opportunities.
With the exception of those participating in the Honors Program, University College's academic advisors advise all students who have earned less than 24 credit hours. You must be registered for the current or future term to be assigned an academic advisor and success team. These assignments are made overnight after you register.

Preview is the two-day orientation program for incoming freshmen. During Preview, you have the opportunity to meet other freshmen, register for classes, receive your Redbird ID card, and more.
Transfer Registration and Orientation Day is a one-day orientation program for incoming transfer students. During the program, you meet with your academic advisor, register for classes, and learn about campus resources.
