Individualized attention is a core value at Illinois State. While traditional majors and minors are the best options for most students, University College is ready to help students who want to create their own plans of study or need special assistance to graduate on time.
University College coordinates the Interdisciplinary Studies majors and minor, which allow students to create their own plans of study with the help of a specialized academic advisor. The Interdisciplinary Studies program is intended for students whose specific interests cannot be accommodated within existing academic programs.
Some majors have requirements that are above the minimum requirements set by the University. The University Studies major is intended for students who are unable to meet the requirements of such majors.
It's also intended for students who determine late in their program they no longer wish to pursue the career path that goes with their declared major.
Illinois State offers 160+ degree programs.
