Where to Stay
Staying overnight in the residence halls is strongly encouraged for Preview students. The overnight experience helps students become more comfortable with the campus environment and makes it easier to be on time for Day 2 required sessions.
Students and guests can choose from two options for overnight accommodations:
- Hewett-Manchester residence halls (recommended for students)
- Local hotel accommodations (recommended for family members and guests)
Hewett and Manchester are residence halls with two single beds and shared restrooms. The residential quarters are equipped with bed linens, a blanket, pillow, and towels.
Residence Hall Fee
Overnight residence hall accommodations are $50 per person (student or parent/guest) and will be charged to the student's account. This includes a dinner provided on Day 1 and a breakfast provided on Day 2. Advance registration for overnight accommodations will be available starting in mid-May. Additional information will be available in your My.IllinoisState.edu account.
During Preview check in, students are assigned a room with a student of the same gender. Individuals who choose to room together during Preview can make the request during check-in.
Alcohol, drugs, and/or inappropriate behavior are not tolerated during Preview. Students who violate this policy and students who are present when violations occur risk dismissal from Illinois State.Housing Safety and Security
Family Members and Guest Accommodations
Family members and guests are encouraged to stay in a local hotel to meet their comfort needs during their visit. Bloomington-Normal has several options, and all are within a reasonable distance to campus.
