Gen ed classes can be tough. They have a bigger class size, making it hard to get your questions answered and go along with the pace. And some classes just might not be your thing.
Tutoring groups have just six students - sometimes less. This allows you to get the individualized attention you need without getting lost in a large gen ed class.
Tutors are students who earned high marks in class. They're trained to help you work through your academic struggles.
You’ll study but you’ll walk away with much more than that. We teach you skills and strategies that make you a better student in every class.
Tutoring sessions start the second week of classes and go until the end of the semester. You’ll meet with your cohort once a week for one hour.
We schedule sessions to accommodate your busy schedule. Most are offered in the evening, Sunday through Friday.
If you miss the first appointment or if you miss three appointments during your session, we'll check in with you to make sure everything is ok and see if you still want tutoring.
If you feel you no longer need tutoring, let us know and we’ll cancel your recurring sessions.
If you stopped your tutoring session but want to return, come see us at the Visor Center and we can see what's available.
